08. Project: Making Mating-Nuc Frames.

Once the 22mm x 10mm battens have been cut to the required lengths using the mini table-saw, creating frames without top-bars is the next step:


This is achieved by the use of weights and improvised clamping while the glue sets:


Top bars are then added, prior to adding starter strips and spacing screws:


And finally, a stack of finished frames which now only need to be drawn out:


The dummy frames which were mentioned earlier are made from some of the above frames, with sheets of thin plywood glued to both sides, and with a small diameter hole drilled through the bottom bar to accommodate the thermal expansion of trapped air:


And after painting and the addition of spacing screws:
